After The Matrix trilogy began with a bang but ended in a whimper, Keanu Reeves' career seemed to wander: a string of misfires, including Constantine, The Day the Earth Stood Still, and expensive flop of 47 Ronin made audiences fear his best days were behind him. But then came a small-budget revenge-thriller directed by his former Matrix stunt coordinators. On paper, it looked like a fun but low-end, straight-to-streaming vehicle for a fading star.
